Bill Cosby is taking all measures to ensure he remains free of Coronavirus. The famed actor recently spoke to Daily Mail and detailed the precautions he’s taking to prevent from contracting the contagious virus.

“As of now, I have declined to take any showers, and I have decided to take wash-ups in my cell,” Cosby told the publication. “This is the best way for me to stay safe and healthy.”

The comedian also revealed he’s taking various supplements, including elderberry syrup, vitamin D, vitamin C, zinc, magnesium and B12, “because we must save lives from this invisible monster…in every city in America.” “Together, we will survive because we are Americans, which makes us resilient,” he said.

Cosby was convicted in 2018 of aggravated indecent assault against Temple University employee Andrea Costand and is currently serving a three to 10-year sentence at State Correctional Institution Phoenix in Pennsylvania.

Since Coronavirus’ accelerated spread throughout prison systems in America, however, Cosby’s lawyers said they “were exploring all legal actions” to get him an early release from prison.

According to a March statement from the comedian’s longtime publicist and crisis manager Andrew Wyatt, he feared Cosby was likely to contract Coronavirus in prison from either the support service inmates responsible for escorting him around or the correction officers he often comes in contact with.

He also cited the convicted comedian’s age, glaucoma, high blood pressure, past blocked arteries and previous heart surgeries as further reasons Cosby is a high-risk candidate for COVID-19.

The following month, Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf signed orders for the Department of Corrections to transfer certain inmates to community corrections facilities or home confinement, but Cosby was not one of them.

“Mr. Cosby is not eligible for release under Gov. Wolf’s order since he was convicted of a violent offense (aggravated indecent assault) and was deemed a Sexually Violent Predator,” Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office spokesperson Kate Delano said at the time. “So for both of those reasons, he would not be eligible to be released.”
