In recent months, G Herbo has found himself in the midst of a new legal battle thanks to charges involving a multi-year, million-dollar fraud scheme with his crew. Today, he decides to address the matter on his new track “Statement,” which is produced by Southside and Hollywood Cole and samples Major Harris’ 1970’s cut “I Got Over Love” — the same sample used by the Diplomats for the iconic single “I Really Mean It.” The slow-building number sees the Chicago star keeping it real about what’s going on in his life:

“Pro Chicago, I’m pro ‘Raq, I’m motivation for the trenches ‘cause I’m Pro-Black, real No Limit so we don’t play by the rules, how the fuck I catch a case? We bought a school/

Don’t be fooled, you n***as fools, on the ‘Gram readin’ comments I’m like, “ooh, cool, so they want me to lose,” I can’t break like I’m bulletproof…/”

The visual comes courtesy of JMP and is filmed in old and new-style formats. Within, G Herbo, Southside, and others can be flexing cars, diamonds, and more, making it clear that they have no intentions of slowing down — despite the aforementioned issues.

Back in February, G Herbo released his third studio album PTSD, which saw 14 tracks and additional features from A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, BJ The Chicago Kid, Juice WRLD, Jacquees, Chance The Rapper, 21 Savage, Polo G, and more. The project earned Herbo a top ten placement on the Billboard 200 thanks to an impressive 59,000 album equivalent units sold during its first week of release. Not very long after, he returned with a deluxe edition of PTSD that added on 14 more tracks and new collabs with Lil Durk and Lil Uzi Vert.

Fans can press play to hear G Herbo’s full “Statement” below.
