After dropping off his Chomp EP last month, Russ is back with another loose track, this time with production from an OG in the hip-hop space. The new “Hard For Me” song opens up with those unmistakable Scott Storch piano chords, as Russ delivers his verse about unreciprocated loyalty:

Tired of goin’ hard for people who don’t go hard for me, and when you love somebody, the truth gets hard to see. They gon’ knock the wind out, make it hard to breathe. If I go hard for you, please go hard for me. Tired of goin’ hard for people who don’t go hard for me, and when you love somebody, the truth gets hard to see. They gon’ knock the wind out, make it hard to breathe. If I go hard for you, please go hard for me.

The session where the song was born was especially memorable. “I know I say it a lot but the song on Friday is a really special one,” Russ said on social media before the track was officially released. “It was one of those sessions that as an artist you hope you have every time. Sat on the song for a while and I’m not sure why, but it’s time now.”

Lately, Russ has been busy keeping his fans more than satisfied with singles like “Give Up,” “Can’t Be Me,” “Still,” “One More Chance,” “Take You Back” with Kehlani, “Paid Off,” “I Love Me,” and more. His recent Chomp EP made its way to fans ears last month, and it boasted five tracks and additional contributions from DJ Premiere, Busta Rhymes, Black Thought, Benny The Butcher, The Alchemist, and 9th Wonder.

His full-length project Shake The Snow Globe was originally released in January and boasted 14 tracks with assists from Rick Ross, Kiana Ledé, Devin The Dude, BIA, and more. The project landed Russ within the top five of the Billboard 200 with an impressive 63,000 album equivalent units sold during its first week of release. The deluxe version dropped in May, adding on seven cuts and a couple of new collaborations with Ty Dolla $ign and Boogie.
