Back in March, Jhené Aiko released her third studio album Chilombo, which saw 20 tracks and additional features from Ty Dolla $ign, John Legend, Ab-Soul, Future, Miguel, H.E.R., Aiko’s beau Big Sean, and more. The project has since become one of the best-selling this year, landing at the number two spot on the Billboard 200 thanks to 152,000 album equivalent units sold during its first week — it’s since earned a Gold certification to boot. Some months following the release of Chilombo, Jhené Aiko liberated a deluxe edition of the album, adding nine more cuts to the overall body and work with added assists from Kehlani, Mila J, Chris Brown, Snoop Dogg, and Wiz Khalifa.

This week, the California songstress reveals a new video from the album for “10k Hours,” which features Nas and sees production from Bay Area talent LEJKEYS. The heartfelt cut is centers around losing a loving one and spending times with those that are still here:

“I know what it’s like to lose, do you? Do you? Have you ever loved someone, then lost that one? You can’t even call they phone, you can’t even ask how they day was/

Nothing in life’s guaranteed, you’ll see, I’m not being difficult, I just see things differently, when I say I wanna see you, that means something deeper to me…/”

The visual comes courtesy of Topshelf Junior, and keeps things single yet effective in getting out the song’s powerful message. The black-and-white clip shows Jhené Aiko and Nas performing the track in the studio while dressed to the nines.

In an interview with REVOLT, Aiko spoke on her evolution as an artist since her career beginnings:

“I’m the same since Sailing Soul(s). I’m just a little more evolved version of myself… Ever since the first grade, I’ve always known who I was. Now, I’m becoming more of who I am.”
