On Sunday (Dec. 6), boxing legend Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr. shocked the sports world when he revealed that he would be going head to head with YouTuber Logan Paul in a “super exhibition” boxing match on Saturday, February 20, 2021.

Thought not too many details about the upcoming bout have yet to be confirmed, we do know that the pay-per-view event already has tickets on sale for fans who want to witness the fight via Fanmio’s website.

We’re not sure what the reasoning behind this fight may be. Just last weekend, Mayweather went on Instagram to offer support to Nate Robinson, a former NBA star, after he got knocked out by Logan’s brother, Jake, in their respective boxing match during Mike Tyson and Ray Jones Jr.’s historical event. Could this be revenge for Jake having Robinson become a laughing stock all across social media?

Nate, I’m proud of you and I will always stand behind all my brothers. I will never kick my brother when he’s down,” Mayweather captioned an old photo of himself and Robinson at the time of his friend’s defeat.

“It’s ok for people to voice their opinions on social media, but no black athletes or black entertainers, especially black NBA players should make a mockery out of you. We are supposed to all stand with each other through the good, bad and ugly. I’m here to uplift you and let you know we all love you and congratulate you for just making an effort.”

Per usual, social media have a lot to say about the upcoming Mayweather and Logan showdown. Many are wondering why the undefeated boxing champ would partake in it and do this to his legacy. Others are excited for it — especially since the fight is taking place during Black History Month.
