Well, this was unexpected. On Sunday (Dec. 6), the undefeated boxing champ Floyd Mayweather announced that he would be in a “super exhibition” boxing match with YouTuber Logan Paul on Saturday, February 20, 2021.

The pay-per-view showdown still has more details coming to light. But, for now, we know that it’s definitely going to be one hell of an event. The last time a Paul and Mayweather made the news was last weekend after the Nate Robinson knockout in Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr.’s fight.

Logan’s brother Jake KO’d the former basketball player during his bought with him, and when people on social media began clowning Robinson as a result, Mayweather stepped in to offer his support to him. “Nate, I’m proud of you and I will always stand behind all my brothers. I will never kick my brother when he’s down,” Mayweather captioned an old photo both of them.

“It’s ok for people to voice their opinions on social media, but no black athletes or black entertainers, especially black NBA players should make a mockery out of you. We are supposed to all stand with each other through the good, bad and ugly. I’m here to uplift you and let you know we all love you and congratulate you for just making an effort.”

After his fight with Robinson, Jake praised him in an interview with Jim Gray. “He was better than I expected … I wanted to say thank you to Nate,” TMZ claims the YouTuber said. “It takes a lot of balls to step in the ring and I don’t want to take anything away from that.”

Could this upcoming fight be revenge for Jake defeating Mayweather’s good friend and having him become a laughing stock? We shall see. In the meantime, tickets for the two’s fight are now on sale on Fanmio’s website.
