DeMar DeRozan jumped to his family’s rescue when an intruder broke into his home in Los Angeles, California, area last month. The man reportedly broke into the NBA player’s home on Nov. 19 and made his way into a play area upstairs where at least one of his kids were playing.

TMZ Sports reports that the basketball star sprung into action after he heard the commotion and rushed to the area to see what was happening. When he arrived, he ended up coming “face-to-face” with the intruder in the process. Sources told the outlet that DeRozan then “chased the man out of his house” after the scary encounter, protecting not only his family but Kylie Jenner as well.

According to law enforcement officials, the man fled the gated community but returned moments later to attempt to go into the reality television star’s home—which was his intended target. The alleged intruder attempted to enter the community again but was stopped by security who then contacted police. Sources claimed that the suspect told the authorities that he made a mistake and did not intent to enter the basketball player’s house but was instead aiming to break into Jenner’s home in the Holmby Hills, Los Angeles, area.

The man was eventually arrested and was charged with one count of felony burglary, and reportedly didn’t steal anything from DeRozan’s home. According to TMZ, Jenner is now taking legal action against the man whose name is Justin Bergquist for allegedly attempting to break into her home. The makeup mogul’s legal team filed documents on Friday (Dec. 4) seeking a restraining order against the man.

This isn’t the first time the famous family is targeted in these sort of home break-ins. The Kylie Cosmetics’ owner’s older sister Kendall Jenner’s home was broken into a few years ago and a man tried to enter their mom Kris Jenner’s gated community several times.
