Lil Uzi Vert is warning his fans about the dangers of using knives after he accidentally stabbed himself in the face on Monday night (Nov. 30).

He took to social media to share a video of the gruesome gash which was located above his top lip. The “Futsal Shuffle 2020” emcee says he suffered the injury after trying to cut open a zip tie with a knife. “Don’t open stuff up with a knife,” he tweeted. “It’s not safe.” A fan told him that he needed stitches and Uzi replied, “You think it’s that deep?”

Aside from his injury, Uzi may be leaving the rap game soon. The Philly native hinted at an early retirement on Twitter last month. “I’m doing two more albums, then I’m out,” he tweeted — and deleted — on Nov. 13.

Back in 2019, he also suggested that he would retire from music during his conflict with DJ Drama and his record label Generation Now, which he is signed to along with Atlantic Records. “I wanna take the time out to say I thank each and every one of my supporters, but I’m done with music,” he posted at the time. “I deleted everything. I wanna be normal … I wanna wake up in 2013.”

Last month, Uzi teamed up with Future to drop their highly anticipated project, Pluto x Baby Pluto. The collaborative album, which was executive produced by DJ Esco, features the hit singles “Patek” and “Over Your Head.”

According to Billboard, there were 10 songs that debuted on the Hot 100 chart from the LP. Pluto x Baby Pluto landed at the No. 2 spot on the Billboard 200 with 105,000 equivalent album units. The project gave Uzi a total of 74 career entries on the Hot 100 chart and helped him pass Aretha Franklin, The Weeknd, The Beatles, Travis Scott, Elton John and Ariana Grande.
