Rick Ross is expressing his support for Nate Robinson after the former NBA lost his boxing match against YouTuber Jake Paul on Saturday (Nov. 28). The rapper shared his disappointment with people poking fun at Robinson online with jokes and memes and some even starting the Nate Robinson challenge, imitating the moment Paul knocked him out.

Ross took to his Instagram Stories to share his thoughts and show Robinson love despite his loss. Why y’all did Nate like that last night? That shit ain’t right. You know what I’m doing over here? Y’all got the Nate Robinson challenge going on, they’re picking on the man. That’s my dawg, man,” the “Aston Martin Music” rapper said in a video of himself going through his basketball jerseys in his closet. “What all teams Nate Robinson played on? I gotta find me a jersey, man, this shit is crazy. I don’t know what’s going on.”

He continued: “Listen man, I finna find me a Nate Robinson jersey because this shit ain’t right. Y’all did my dawg wrong, y’all know he was promoting Wing Stop. Y’all don’t know that man.”

He later shared an update about his search, and while it wasn’t successful, he took the time to tell Robinson to try to make the most of the day. “I think it ain’t no secret, I don’t have a Nate Robinson jersey. But this is what I want you do to do, Nate. I want you to still go get you a 50-piece Wing Stop and find a way to enjoy the day,” the rapper said. “All the memes going on, everybody face down, ass up. I get it. I get it. But Nate, you went in there, you got you a check. Just look at the positive side.”

The rapper asked the athlete to reach out to him through his DMs to let him know how he was doing, and kept suggesting activities for him to do in order to relax and enjoy the day. “Go to the park with wifey, and just push her on the swing, you know?” the rapper recommended.

Before the boxers got in the ring, Ross made it clear who he was rooting for on his Instagram Stories. “Nate Robinson vs. Jake Paul. Jake Paul, you’re my homie, but you know how we get down over here,” he said in a video prior to the fight. After Paul knocked Robinson out, the emcee made it clear that he was still supporting the former NBA star. “We still fuck with you Nate,” he said in a clip after the second-round knockout. “Everything good, n***a. We know you play basketball, n***a, you ain’t box. Somebody tricked you into getting that check, we still fuck with you.”

Robinson broke his silence on Sunday (Nov. 29) morning, following his loss, and let people know he was doing well and thanked people for their support. “Thank you everyone for all of the well wishes, I’m OK. I appreciate @triller for the opportunity as well as everyone that has backed me during the fight. To my coaches, trainers, fans, and teammates, I appreciate all of the time and support you guys put in with me,” he wrote. “It wasn’t the outcome that we wanted, but I’m thankful for the opportunity to fight on the biggest stage that there has been.”
