Benny the Butcher has been discharged from the hospital following a shooting that took place in Houston, Texas over the weekend. As reported by REVOLT, the Griselda MC was shot in the leg at a Walmart parking lot during an attempted robbery.

According to Houston police, Benny was in town on Saturday (Nov. 14) and visiting the store when five masked men pulled up next to him in their car. The suspects held Benny and his friends at gunpoint and demanded their chains.

When the robbers felt that Benny and his group weren’t moving quickly enough, one man shot the rapper in the leg. The rest of the robbers — and Benny and his crew — fled the scene. Once they knew they were safe, Benny and his friends pulled over and called the police.

A new video from the “No Jumper” podcast shows Benny out of the hospital and boarding a jet while using crutches. Podcast host, Adam Grandmaison, tweeted that Benny “is ok after after being shot” and wished him “a very speedy recovery.”

According to the Associated Press, none of the other people in Benny’s group were injured during the incident. The suspects in the shooting are still at large and a police investigation is reportedly underway. Houston Police Spokesperson Jodi Silva said the robbers were last seen driving a Chevy Malibu.

The shocking news of Benny’s shooting was sadly one of several reports of gun violence in Texas last week. Also on Saturday, Boosie Badazz was shot in the leg after assailants opened fire on his vehicle in Dallas. According to TMZ, Boosie was taken to a nearby hospital where he was treated for non life-threatening injuries below his knee.

That incident also followed the fatal shooting of Boosie’s collaborator and friend Mo3, who tragically passed away on Wednesday (Nov. 11). Dallas rapper Dr. Rose was also injured in a separate shooting the following day.
