Top Trump advisor Peter Navarro said the White House is moving forward under the “assumption of a second Trump term,” despite Joe Biden’s victory over the presidential incumbent. Navarro made the claims and stated that Trump “won the election” while appearing on Fox Business Friday morning (Nov. 13).

“Our assumption is the second Trump term; we think he won that election and any speculation about what Joe Biden might do… I think is moot at this point,” Navarro said.

The economist also played into the Trump campaign’s efforts to assert widespread voter fraud, claiming, “… if you look statistically at what happened; clearly the president won this election [and] was leading on election day. And then, after election day, somehow in these key battleground states, they got just enough votes to catch up to the president.”

“What we seek here is verifiable ballots, certifiable ballots and an investigation into what are growing numbers of allegations of fraud under signed affidavits by witnesses and my own view looking at this election,” he continued. “We have what appears in some sense to be an immaculate deception.”

Although Navarro claims the White House is proceeding under the assumption of a second Trump term, CNN and other major outlets announced Biden as the projected winner in Arizona on Thursday night (Nov. 12), giving him 11 more electoral votes over Trump. The former vice president now leads with 290 electoral votes over Trump’s 217. Even if Trump wins North Carolina and flips Georgia in his favor, he will still trail behind with 248 votes.

On an upcoming “60 Minutes” interview teased this week, former president Barack Obama criticized Republicans for “humoring” Trump’s allegations of voter fraud.

“They appear to be motivated, in part, because the president doesn’t like to lose and never admits loss,” Obama said. “I’m more troubled by the fact that other Republican officials who clearly know better are going along with this [and] are humoring him in this fashion. It is one more step in delegitimizing not just the incoming Biden administration, but democracy generally. And that’s a dangerous path.”
