Blue Ivy Carter can now add narrator to her resume.

On Monday (Nov. 9), Matthew A. Cherry, the creator of Hair Love, announced that the 8-year-old daughter of Beyoncé and JAY-Z is the narrator of the new audio version of the best-selling children’s book. In addition to the announcement, he shared a clip of Blue’s voice, in which she introduced the book and herself. “Dreamscape presents ‘Hair Love,’ by Matthew A. Cherry,” she said. “Narrated by Blue Ivy Carter.”

Cherry is the screenplay writer and director for the short animated film which the book is based on. Hair Love, which is about an African American father learning how to style his daughter’s hair, won an Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film at this year’s Oscars.

“I just want to say that ‘Hair Love’ was done because we wanted to see more representation in animation — we wanted to normalize Black hair,” he said during his acceptance speech.

Blue Ivy is no stranger to the spotlight. This year, she won his first BET Award for collaborating with her mother, WizKid and SAINt JHN on the hit single, “Brown Skin Girl.” That win made her the youngest winner ever for the BET Awards show.

Beyoncé recently opened up about her relationship with her eldest daughter in her December cover story for British Vogue. She spoke about how they celebrate each other’s accomplishments.

“When I tell her I’m proud of her, she tells me that she’s proud of me and that I’m doing a good job. It’s too much sweetness,” the “Find Your Way Back” singer said. “She melts my heart. I believe the best way to teach [my kids] is to be the example.”
