Phora and Ty Dolla $ign enjoy “This Weekend” on new track
The track can be found on Phora’s latest release ‘With Love 2’
Last week, Phora just released his new album With Love II via his own imprint Yours Truly Records, now an independent artist after spending a chunk of his career with Warner Records. In celebration of the release, he shares an official lyric video of one of the stand-out tracks “This Weekend” featuring Ty Dolla $ign. On his verse, Ty smoothly details the ideal perfect weekend with his lady:
“Let’s both get away this weekend, new Lambo, that’s where we leavin’. We smoke on the PJ, chiefin’. Now we, we gon’ land this evenin’. We gon’ makе love on a yacht, Bonnie and Clyde, wе gon’ run from the cops. Up and down the coast, takin’ walks, black sand with the rocks. I’m smokin’, you drinkin’. Every time you with me, say it’s like you dreamin’. Take a shot, then you get naked and go demon.”
The album features many of the hottest names in today’s R&B and was preceded by singles like “Stars In The Sky” feat. Jhene Aiko, “Cupid’s Curse” feat. Kehlani, and the newly dropped visual to “Traumatized” feat. Toosii. His last full-length body of work was last year’s Bury Me With Dead Roses, which acted as his first independent release since his departure from Warner Records. His two major label releases, Yours Truly Forever and Love Is Hell, made landfall in 2017 and 2018, respectively.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, the rapper shed some light on his happiness and his appreciation for his supporters over the years:
“Album drops tomorrow 9pm… I’ve never been happier in my life. Been getting a lot of negative energy and hate coming my way but I’m above allll that shit right now. I’m proud of myself. Happy with who I am. Ready to prove people wrong and laugh all the way to the bank!! Glad to have real ones that love and support me, especially during these dark and fucked up times — All the pain, all the sacrifice, all the long nights were worth it.. I know this album is my best work yet and I can’t wait for u to hear it.”
