J.I.D has undeniably been in the pure rapping mood lately. Just five days after his surprise drop of “Cludder Freestyle”, the Atlanta spitter unleashes another loosie, this time a collaboration with Kaytranada. The two linked up for “JIDtranada,” and both new tracks are exclusively only on SoundCloud and YouTube as of right now. On the new song, J.I.D flows over the silky smooth Kaytranada beat:

“My membrane tainted, my pen pad painted with pain. Point-blank range, aim at your brain, bang! I’m angry. Drinkin’ Jamy, I’m just like you but we ain’t the same. Twenty-something, Kurt Cobain inside the game. Swerve a change inside your lane. Heard them people want me dead. So get in line and file your claim. State your gang and state your name.”

If you need more of J.I.D, he can be heard all over Spillage Village’s recent project Spilligion. He also assisted his rap peers in a slew of singles like IDK’s “Cereal” with Kenny Mason, Smino’s “Baguetti” with Kenny Beats, and Wynne’s “Ego Check.” The year 2019 was a big year for the home team Dreamville, as the label dropped off their chart-topping, Grammy-nominated compilation album Revenge Of The Dreamers 3, where J.I.D was on more songs on the album than head honcho J. Cole himself. J.I.D’s last full-length solo project was 2018’s DiCaprio 2, and before that was The Never Story the year prior.

Last year, Kaytranada delivered BUBBA, the groovy 17-track project fans have been itching for since his debut project from 2016 titled 99.9%. He recently cooked up with Tinashe and the two dropped their cinematic “Worst In Me” visual earlier this month.

In a previous interview with REVOLT, J.I.D reminisced about one of his favorite moments during his Catch Me If You Can tour:

“It’s hard to pick favorite shows. I remember being in Prague. It was a crazy place. We sold it out. I don’t know nobody in Prague. It’s really pretty. Went to a bridge at the top mountain and shit like that, it’s really nice stuff. Places like that, when you get there, you’re like, ‘Oh shit, we really out here. Y’all really accepting the music and y’all care about it.’ So, it means it’s transcending and coming across a certain type of way. That is always a good feeling. It’s like one of the best feelings.”
