Drake is at home resting after reportedly undergoing knee surgery. The rapper shared a photo of himself in bed with his right knee in a leg brace on Saturday (Oct. 31), and speculation began that he had an operation. Although he didn’t explain what type of procedure he had, he shared the pic on his Instagram Story with the caption, “New challenge unlocked.”

Fans quickly screenshotted the post, which he later deleted and shared it again but the second time he added a thoughtful message. Instead, he sent well wishes to anyone who faced some type of struggle this year.

“I actually want to use this post to send love and motivation to anybody else that 2020 let loose on,” The “POPSTAR” rapper captioned the photo of himself watching television. “Start writing the best bounce back story NOW.”

Fans took to social media to share their thoughts and well wishes to the rapper, while others poked fun at Drake for dealing with yet another knee injury. “Drake got the worst knees in rap history this the third time he done busted dat bitch,” one fan tweeted. Others questioned how the rapper continues injuring himself. “Drake really got more knee surgeries than a veteran running back at this point. What that man be doing?” a fan wrote.

Other fans took the injury as a sign of good things to come. “@Drake with that knee injury [actin] like it’s take care all over again man,” a fan tweeted. Another shared: “Drake in a knee brace? yeah.. this album finna run.”

The rapper is gearing up for quite a year after his recovery. He celebrated his 34th birthday last week and rang in his new year by announcing that his upcoming album Certified Lover Boy will be released in January 2021.

This isn’t the first time the Grammy winner undergoes surgery for his knees. In 2009, the rapper fell on stage during a concert and suffered three torn ligaments, and he announced to fans that he had set a date for his surgery. “In the studio … working on Thank Me Later … magic … surgery September 8th,” he tweeted at the time. “Then we’re back in business.”

We wish the rapper a speedy recovery.
