On Thursday (Oct. 29), Lil Wayne took to social media to announce that he met with Donald Trump to discuss his Platinum Plan and seemed to lend his support to the president.

“Just had a great meeting with @realdonaldtrump @potus. Besides what he’s done so far with criminal reform, the Platinum Plan is going to give the community real ownership. He listened to what we had to say today and assured he will and can get it done,” he tweeted.

Per usual, the news was met with social media reactions filled with Black people upset with what seems to be a Trump endorsement from yet another Black celebrity.

Record producer Bryan Michael Cox made it clear that the Young Money star doesn’t influence his political opinion. “First of all, Lil Wayne is the very LAST nigga, Ima take any critical advice about the state our country and the state of our people…,” he wrote on Twitter. “So there’s that.”

Another user compared his announcement to the time Lil Wayne spoke in defense of cops. “Lil Wayne was out here defending police not too long ago so it’s not a surprise. At all,” the user tweeted.

Someone suggested that the F is Weezy F Baby stands for “fucking clown,” while another tweet seemed to believe celebrities are being “used as props.”

“Come on Lil Wayne. The Platinum Plan is a joke 2-page PDF,” the tweet read. “Biden’s plan is real and addresses the racial wealth gap. Trump calls BLM terrorists and has been the most openly racist, authoritarian President in modern history. These rappers are letting themselves be used as props.”

Many questioned why Wayne and other celebrities have chosen to speak up within days of Election Day. Others wished famous people would just keep their thoughts to themselves.

“I wish celebrities would just not let us know who they endorsing. I’ve never really found it beneficial. I’ve loved Lil Wayne since I was about 9 years old. Still love him. It’s just disheartening that’s all. Vote who you want. It’s our right, but damn,” a Twitter user wrote.
