Ty Dolla $ign is “Nothing Like Your Exes” in new video
The “Flavor of Love”-themed clip also stars Flavor Flav.
This past weekend, Ty Dolla $ign released his third studio album Featuring Ty Dolla $ign, which boasts a hefty 25 tracks and assists from Kid Cudi, Post Malone, Kanye West, Anderson .Paak, Quavo, Nicki Minaj, Big Sean, Roddy Ricch, Mustard, Young Thug, Future, Gunna, and loads more. The album was initially announced via social media, where the California star further explained the title choice, stating that “there is truly something for everybody on this album” with “some of [his] most talented friends.” This week, he drops off a new visual from the project for “Nothing Like Your Exes,” which is produced by Nano, Mike Crook, GYLTTRYP, and Ty himself, who sings about exactly what the title suggests:
“See that you pull up alone, all in the club with no panties on, you ain’t gotta check your phone, he don’t know what he got at home/
We both know that he a clown, tell by how you walking’ that he don’t d*** you down, don’t you hear my talkin’, baby? Love me now, I go crazy…/”
The theme of the Eif Rivera-directed video is a flip of the infamous VH1 dating show “Flavor of Love,” with the shows former host and legendary Public Enemy member Flavor Flav making a co-star appearance. Also in the clip is former “Flavor of Love” contestant Nicole “Hoopz” Alexander, who takes over as the ultimate “prize” for a slew of potential male winners, all of whom possess some quirk that adds plenty of humor to the video.
Featuring Ty Dolla $ign follows 2017’s Beach House 3, another feature-heavy effort that also saw a deluxe edition released the following year. Months after the deluxe, Ty$ teamed up with Jeremih for the joint effort MihTy, which saw 11 cuts and additional contributions from Chris Brown, Wiz Khalifa, and French Montana.
