In the span of a month, the San Bernardino-based artist WhoHeem finds himself with a viral single, a major label record deal, and a growing buzz as California’s next rap come-up. His single “Let’s Link” has benefitted from the viral treatment thanks to its catchy hook, and the song has now been given a boost and received guest verses from Tyga and Lil Mosey. Over the LoyalThePlug beat, Tyga comes in for his new verse referencing an ATL great:

“Ain’t Ludacris, but I tell her ‘Move, b**ch.’ I’m a motherf**kin’ G, got ruthless. Press the button, make the car got roofless. Make it nasty, suck it like you toothless. Give a f*ck ‘bout a n***a, give two sh*ts. New whip, new phone, b**ch, who this? OMG, bussin’ like a grape, b**ch. That’s what I like, baby, that’s what I like.”

The original “Let’s Link” song saw WhoHeem climb up Billboard’s Hot 100 charts, gaining traction from social media without any official label backing. The song currently sits at over 75 million streams across all streaming platforms and also boasts over 2 million video submission on TikTok. Tyga has put out and assisted with other singles this year, including “Latina (Remix)” with Reykon and Becky G, “Money Mouf” with Saweetie and YG, “Sweet & Sour” with Jawsh 685 and Lauv, “Trap Pea” with El Alfa, and another viral hit “Vibe (If I Back It Up) by Cookiee Kawaii.

REVOLT recently caught up with Lil Mosey last month, where he spoke about how he plans to use his massive following on social media (4+ million followers) for the greater good:

When I first started making music, I always told myself over everything: “I’ma use this as something to show the world what’s right and what’s wrong.” I plan on doing more. Even now, some people don’t even look at me like I’m Black. How the cops look at me growing up, they look at me like, “Alright, you’re a minority.” I know how it feels to be treated differently. Probably not as much as people, but where I’m from, it’s so diverse that if you look a certain way, they assume how you are. That s**t’s definitely a big problem here for different minorities.
