Earlier this month, Ghetts unveiled his latest single “IC3,” which features Skepta and is produced by Ten Billion Dreams. Referencing the law enforcement designation for Blacks in the UK, the track sees the two delivering some of their best bars about their estate upbringing, the hypocrisy within the royal circle that represents their nation, and more:

“Don’t tell me go back where I came from, while the Queen sits there in stolen jewels, cool, I’ll go back with a chain on, and light up the place like Akon/

Mmm, I got a bullet with your name on, bloodstains on the pavement you played on, you think I give a f*** about a loose screw? My brudda, my whole brain’s gone/”

The visual comes courtesy of Ruff Mercy and Hector Dockrill and, much like Ghetts’ previous visual for the Jaykae and Moonchild Sanelly-assisted “Mozambique,” mixes varying levels of animation to add to the two collaborators rapping on road with their respective crews.

It’s been a couple of years since Ghetts’ last full-length release Ghetto Gospel: The New Testament, a continuation of his 2007 classic Ghetto Gospel that saw 17 tracks and features from President T, Wretch 32, Donae’O, Little Simz, Stefflon Don, Chip, and more. The project earned Ghetts a position at 30 on the UK Albums chart during its first week of release. Meanwhile, Skepta released his fifth studio album Ignorance Is Bless in 2019, which saw 13 cuts and assists from the likes of J Hus, KEY!, Nafe Smallz, Lay-Z, Wizkid, and his Boy Better Know collective. That project peaked at number two on the aforementioned chart.

Press play on Ghetts and Skepta’s “IC3” clip below. Also added is the duo’s live performance of the hard-hitting number during an appearance on BBC’s 1Xtra Live event that took place over this past weekend.
