Just before the Coronavirus pandemic brought the entire world to a halt, The Weeknd released his fourth studio album After Hours, which boasted 14 cuts and production assistance from previous collaborators like DaHeala, Illangelo, Max Martin, and Metro Boomin. As expected, the Canadian star’s newest project was a massive success, reaching number one in more than 20 countries and scores some 444,000 album equivalent units in the United States during its first week of release. Since then, The Weeknd has liberated both a deluxe edition and an EP of After Hours remixes, further pushing the album’s momentum well into the year.

Today, he adds to that with a new remix for “In Your Eyes,” which not features the jazz stylings of legendary saxophonist Kenny G. The updated version was originally premiered during the duo’s appearance at last month’s “TIME100” event, which unveiled TIME Magazine’s annual list of the world’s most influential people.

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, The Weeknd explained his thought process behind the concept of After Hours, which visually portrayed a red blazer’d, bloodied character wreaking havoc in Las Vegas a la the Johnny Depp and Benicio del Toro cult classic Fear and Loathing:

“I’ve always tried to do what I do with After Hours with every record I’ve ever done … I just didn’t have the resources or the budget or the time to make them as cohesive and as singular as After Hours was visually. … It might not be my best album … It might not be what people gravitate towards the most in the future. Hopefully it is. But to me, it’s definitely my most perfect album.”

Press play on The Weeknd and Kenny G’s “In Your Eyes (Remix)” below. In related news, the singer has reached another milestone with After Hours — the standout cut “Blinding Lights” has officially spent its twentieth week at the top of Billboard’s Adult Pop Songs chart.
