It seems 2020 might have at least one more surprise in store — in the form of a Cardi B and Nicki Minaj collaboration. Rumors began swirling over the weekend when a fan tweeted what appears to be a leaked snippet of a song allegedly called “Lavish.” The 9-second clip includes Mike WiLL Made-It’s producer tag and a short intro featuring both Nicki and Cardi’s voices.

Cardi further egged on the rumors with a tweet later in the day, suggesting that she does have a collaboration with an unnamed artist on the way.

“Since ya mad ..imma give ya something mad to be about,” the “WAP” rapper wrote. “This next single and coll- ….Gonna have ya sick ….since ya here.”

So far, Nicki hasn’t commented on the rumors. The Queens native has stayed pretty quiet since giving birth to her first child at the end of last month. Her mother, Carol Minaj, previously congratulated her and her husband, Kenneth Petty, on Instagram.

“Thank you Lord for Blessing my daughter [Nicki Minaj] with a beautiful bundle of joy!” she wrote. “You have always been a Blessing to myself and your family, and now you have received one of the best Blessings from God. ‘Children are a gift from the Lord. They are a reward from Him.’ Psalms 127:3 #glamma let us rejoice!!!!”

Nicki hasn’t shared any photos of the newborn or announced their gender, but she did post some glamorous maternity portraits earlier in the year.

On the other hand, Cardi is still swimming in the success of her and Megan Thee Stallion’s chart-topper, “WAP.” After its August release, the mega-collaboration earned the biggest debut streaming week ever and raked in the most streams of 2020. The Bronx-bred rapper also recently celebrated her 28th birthday with a billboard from her daughter Kulture, a star-studded birthday party and a newly launched Reebok footwear collection.
