Twitter reacts to Ice Cube reportedly assisting Donald Trump with his “Platinum Plan”
“He said he would work with whichever campaign put forth an economic and prosperity plan specifically for Black communities. Trump did it,” tweeted one Twitter user.
On Wednesday (Oct. 14), news surfaced that Ice Cube reportedly assisted Donald Trump with his “Platinum Plan” for Black Americans.
Katrina Pierson, Trump’s senior advisor, took to Twitter to thank the “It Was A Good Day” emcee for helping create the plan. “Shoutout to @icecube for his willingness to step up and work with @realDonaldTrump Administration to help develop the #PlatinumPlan,” she tweeted. “Leaders gonna lead, haters gonna hate. Thank you for leading!”
She also added a link to the 4-year plan which includes increasing access to capital in Black communities by $500 billion by creating three million more jobs for the Black community — 500,000 of them being Black-owned businesses.
Ice Cube immediately became a trending topic on Twitter following her tweet. Currently, more than 31,000 tweets were sent out about Cube and his support for Trump’s new plan.
Twitter user @Rockprincess818 tweeted, “This was a key issue for Ice Cube. He is a man of his word. He said he would work with whichever campaign put forth an economic and prosperity plan specifically for Black communities. Trump did it. Welcome aboard, IC!”
“Listen, if you’re mad at Ice Cube for helping Trump develop a Black agenda, be mad at all the celebrities [who] help the Democrats develop a Black agenda that they never did,” tweeted @__Sharif__. “I’m mad at Ice Cube for falling for that shit knowing damn well Trump ain’t gonna do shit.”
Music journalist Touré tweeted, “I’m old enough to remember when Ice Cube mocked Eazy-E for having dinner with President George H.W. Bush which was Eazy trolling Bush, not supporting him, but we’re in 2020 so up is down.”
“Kanye won’t be jealous,” wrote Twitter user @DiscipleX1. “Frankly, it’s cool seeing rappers like Kanye, Cube, Diddy and Ice T challenge Black people to ask, ‘Has our decades long loyalty to #Democrats really improved our communities?’”
Ice Cube recently took to Twitter to address Pierson’s tweet. He tweeted, “Facts: I put out the [Contract With Black America]. Both parties contacted me. Dems said, ‘We’ll address the CWBA after the election.’ Trump campaign made some adjustments to their plan after talking to us about the CWBA.”
