While two UK emcees are coming together, two others are apparently falling out. Yesterday, North London’s own Chip liberated two new singles titled “Flowers” and “Killer MC,” which are apparently shots in the direction of South London star Stormzy, who allegedly sent a message or two to Chip on Headie One’s “Ain’t It Different.”

Of the two releases, “Flowers” is without a doubt the most direct, addressing the conflict from the first bar:

“On the day the people marching out cah black lives matter, you’re tryna slide out, I said your verse was light, what’s the matter? Sent you my address out of love, two days later, tryna pull up with your thugs, what type of packet is you on?/

Gave you a chance to spin me on a tune beside me, you objected, I said ‘cool and God bless’ and kept it moving, but it seems you won’t be satisfied unless you see a shooting, can you believe this is the same boy that does the gospel music?/”

Both “Flowers” and “Killer MC” also come with simple-yet-effective visuals that show Chip rapping from a Shell gas station, in the backseat of his whip, in the midst of choreographed dancers, and more.

Prior to the new drops, this year also saw Chip teaming up with Skepta and Young Adz on the collaborative project Insomnia, which saw 12 tracks from the trio and a single feature courtesy of Adz’s D-Block Europe cohort Dirtbike LB. That project proved to be successful, landing the artists in the top three of the UK Albums chart. In addition, Chip also dropped the single “0420 (R.I.P. Black the Ripper),” a tribute track to song’s namesake who tragically passed on in April due to a reported heart attack.

Fans can press play on “Flowers” and “Killer MC” below.
