Thanks to the likes of Bryson Tiller and Jack Harlow, Kentucky is quickly becoming the next hotbed of talented artists making their way to commercial success. Looking to join those ranks is Corio, who is making his official debut via the Juicebox-produced single “Phone Off.” The laid-back, melodic cut centers on his apparent position as side-dude in a love triangle, and he seems to have his lover where he want her, leading to the type of subject matter that’s perfect for the bedroom:

“Shawty turn your phone off, tell your man to hold off, I could have you gone, I just need your clothes off/

Let me turn you on, let me turn the lights off, lit you like a bomb, let you get me so gone…/”

As Corio explained via press release, the melodic cut is inspired by a certain love interest:

“This track is based on true events. I was involved with this woman who I strongly believe was in a relationship while entertaining me. The record conveys everything that did or eventually would have happened had things played out to the end.”

Previously known as YNL Capone, Corio hails from Kentucky’s second-largest city Lexington. Over the past two years, he’s blessed his growing fanbase with projects like The Let Go, 10 Hours, Amoré, and his June release First Class, which sees six equally dope cuts from the genre-bending artist. He’s also delivered the notable 2020 singles “Go Harder” and “Vietnam.” As Corio, fans can look for more of his infectious harmonies to make landfall sooner than later.

In the meantime, you can press play on Corio’s “Phone Off” below, and look out for an accompanying visual to arrive in the near future. The artist is also expected to be liberating a new project some time next year.
