This week, Willie The Kid will release his latest project Capital Gains. Following the release of “Egregious” and the Curren$y-assisted single “Brewster’s Millions,” the Michigan emcee returns with another cut titled “Cork Fee,” which features assistance from Action Bronson and production from Brady James. As expected, the two emcees rap over the nostalgic sounding cut like seasoned lyricists at the top of their game:

“I vow to, pop bubbles like it’s Alka-Seltzer, posers catch an ulcer at the show in Tusla, Teslas, testing for Corona, club promoter, restaurant owner, looking licensed, been the nicest, nights like this, these rappers rap about/

Chatterbox, nothing to chat about, box seats, I’m at the boxing match, cigar cutters, book of matches, don’t compare me to no rappers, this the don package, Michael Corleone, baby boy, I waited patient, no mistaking my attention so I played it flagrant…/”

While spending much of the last 18 months virtually dormant, Willie The Kid did provide notable assists on “Mexico City” with VH$, Tedy Andreas, and Raz Fresco and Eto’s “Rusty Stainless” with Rome Streetz. He also dropped both the EP Heather Grey with Eto and V-Don and the feature compilation Pearls in 2019.

Day one fans of Willie The Kid should remember his position as a founding member of the Aphilliates, aligning himself with DJ Drama and Don Cannon throughout much of his career. In addition to jumping on a slew of Gangsta Grillz mixtapes, fans also received classic projects like his debut album Absolute Greatness, Masterpiece Theatre with The Alchemist, and The Cure and The Fly mixtape series. Outside of music, Willie The Kid co-executive produced the PBS documentary I, Too, Sing America: Langston Hughes Unfurled, which was directed by Oscar-winning director Kevin Willmott.

Fans can press play on Willie The Kid and Action Bronson’s “Cork Fee” below. Capital Cains makes official landfall this Friday (October 2).
