A$AP Ferg says A$AP Mob drama will be explained in new song

Some A$AP Mob members said that Ferg, who just released Floor Seats II, was no longer part of the group.

As A$AP Ferg was gearing up to release his latest project, Floor Seats II, there appeared to be trouble brewing amongst his crew. A$AP Mob members A$AP Illz and A$AP Bari claimed that the “Move Ya Hips” rapper was no longer a part of the group. However, A$AP Nast denied the rumors and said Ferg was absolutely still a member.

In a new interview with Hot 97, aired on the heels of his album, Ferg confirmed that he is still a member of the A$AP Mob and announced he would explain the group drama in a new song that will apparently be added to a Floor Seats II extended version.

“It was something super petty, but to make a long story short…I address it in a song called ‘Big A$AP’ that I’m adding on to the project in a week,” he told host Ebro Darden. “You’re gonna get all the answers you want out of that song.”

Ferg explained that he had been with A$AP Rocky when the rumors broke, who was equally confused about the situation.

“I mean, who’s been waving this flag for the past couple years?” he asked, adding that he and Rocky have been “working on music for most of quarantine.”

A silver lining of the drama, Ferg said, was free promotion for his new album.

“They gave me promo I couldn’t pay for,” he said. “That A is still in my name, that A is still tatted on me.”

Floor Seats II included the previously released hits “Move Ya Hips” with Nicki Minaj and MadeinTYO and “No Ceilings” featuring Lil Wayne and Jay Gwuapo. The effort also saw collaborations with Diddy, Mulatto, Tyga, Fivio Foreign, OneFour, Antha Pantha and Marilyn Manson.

“I like to pay homage to the ones that came before me,” Ferg said of getting Manson on the namesake track. “Marilyn Manson is such an iconic figure that’s just tatted in my brain… I jumped in [his] DMs and said, ‘Yo, bro, we gotta work. I got this song called ‘Marilyn Manson.’ He was like, ‘I got it already.’”

Ferg explained that Manson had been given the track by a publicist. What’s more, before they even collaborated, the eccentric rocker had already been playing the song at live shows as background music while he’d walk out on stage. Hear Ferg’s full story below.
