Platinum-certified and Boston-born artist BIA just unleashed her newest single, “SAME HANDS” featuring Lil Durk. In a statement about the song, BIA explains the hook (“Crushin’ up the drugs with the same hands, that I fix to pray with”). “The inspiration behind this song was no matter how you sin, you can still be close to God,” she writes. “Durk was the perfect fit for this song because he’s authentic and he brought the energy to match mine.”

Elsewhere in the CBMIX-produced track, BIA raps about her thinning patience:

Lately I’ve been runnin’ through my patience, kush and YSL is on my fragrance. N****s did me foul, that’s a flagrant. How I hold it down like I’m a basement? Don’t think that I’m soft because I’m gracious. If you owe me money, then I’m fifty with my payments.

Earlier this year, BIA released her two singles “Cover Girl” and “Free BIA (First Day Out),” the latter track being an expression of her label frustrations she has dealt with. In a recent interview with REVOLT, BIA, who was previously with RCA Records and is currently signed to Epic Records, went into detail about what it’s like to sign leave one record label and eventually sign with another and why:

It’s crazy because every meeting I went to, they knew I was a worried dog. I’m like, “I don’t know how I feel about this.” I’m big off energy and vibes, and Sylvia is an incredible woman. I want to be around women. I want to be around people who understand me and aren’t trying to change me, but want to help me elevate and be the best me. I have a really close friend who’s actually my A&R, all of those things they play a part. These are people who start to know you for you, not just you as an artist.
