Last month, Young Dolph released his fifth solo LP Rich Slave, which sees 16 tracks and appearances from G Herbo, Megan Thee Stallion, and frequent collaborator Key Glock. This week, he drops off a visual from the project for “Hold Up Hold Up Hold Up,” which is produced by BandPlay and sees the Memphis star rapping about his journey from rags to riches:

“Uncle Vic told me stay down with this s*** ‘til it blow up, smokin’ on some s*** you not, got Wock-Wock in my soda, used to sign for the packs, now I sign t-shirts and posters, drop five hundred racks to drop the top on that new Rolls truck/

Balenciaga the drip, first class, Dubai, take a trip, spend a little bit, stack all the chips, I walk in Margiela and go crazy, can’t get money with me, you too lazy, one thing I ain’t never did was never ever ever let a bitch play me…/”

The accompanying visual shows Young Dolph on the grind, running and cleaners and taking care of his customers. On the flip side, the Paper Route Empire head honcho shares his spoils, from his jewelry to his luxury whip.

In a past interview on REVOLT’s “Drink Champs,” Young Dolph spoke on how he started taking hip hop seriously:

Man, freestyling in the car, riding around, doing what we do… Doing what we do and just turned up. Just pull off, count up, freestyling, back and forth. I win, he win, let’s go get something to eat, let’s go shopping, roll up a blunt, freestyle again, like, that’s how it started. I was just the youngest out of all of my partners and all of a sudden, all of them niggas just started telling me to rap.”
