Tee Grizzley and Big Sean rep Detroit heavy in “Trenches” video
The track can be found on Tee Grizzley’s latest album ‘The Smartest.’
Back in June, Tee Grizzley unveiled his latest project The Smartest, which saw 17 cuts and features from Queen Naija, Meek Mill, Lil Baby, Lil Keed, and more. This week, the Detroit star drops off a new visual from the project for “Trenches,” which features Big Sean and sees the two Motor City emcees rapping about their relative upbringings over production from Hit-Boy:
“Yeah, I went to Cody and Dixon, three dollars to my name, got a juice and a McChicken, call in some Coney, it’s gon’ be done in twenty minutes, don’t go up there without no strap, might have to bang it out with some n***as, wait, hold up/
Went on Google, when I looked up your lyrics, they ain’t have no meaning in ‘em, pourin’ Actavis on my bullets, might have to lean a n***a, yeah, she bad, but I can’t wife her if she been seen with n***as, I’d rather stay broke and go chase with some greedy n***as…”
The video shows both artists in their respective residences, doing regular activities like enjoying a meal, walking the dog and mowing the lawn. At some point, Big Sean and Tee Grizzley meet up to get into some old fashioned video game competition.
Recently, Big Sean released his latest album Detroit 2, which saw a healthy 21 tracks and — in addition to a collab with Tee Grizzley — additional assists from the likes of 42 Dugg, Eminem, Young Thug, Travis Scott, Post Malone, Jhené Aiko, and Ty Dolla Sign. That project also proved to be one of Big Sean’s most successful, scoring Sean his third number one album on the Billboard 200 with 103,000 album equivalent units sold during its first week of release.
