Last November, Tinashe released her fourth studio album Songs For You, an independent effort that saw 15 tracks and features from G-Eazy, 6LACK, Ms Banks, and MAKJ. This week, she returns to that project to create a new visual for “Remember When,” which sees Tinashe singing about the good times with a former flame over production from Darion Jovan:

“Pickin’ up the pieces of a mess, but I feel like myself again, think I saw forever in your eyes, eyes, know the situation’s pretty complicated/

I just wanna go back, if we could foster it, no, hope you’re not just playin’ with my emotions, or maybe I’m just stupid to still believe in it…/”

The visual gives the viewer an acoustic performance of the track, with Tinashe performing the cut alongside a single guitarist in a studio, leaving the viewer to feel every word. “Remember When” also follows several visuals and features including “Play Fight” and “Hopscotch (Remix)” with THEY., “Rascal (Superstar),” “Only” with ZHU, “Stormy Weather,” the MAKJ-assisted “Save Room For Us,” and more. Prior to that, she released her major label efforts “Aquarius,” “Nightride,” and “Joyride” in 2014, 2016, and 2018, respectively.

This past weekend also saw her connecting with Australian star Iggy Azalea on the track “Dance Like Nobody’s Watching.” In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, the Kentucky songstress spoke on the music she’s been creating during the quarantine:

“I really wanted to create stuff that felt really happy and brought, you know, joy because I was obviously feeling really depressed. We’re stuck in the house. This is unprecedented depression that we all kind of felt collectively before we normalized this. Now, maybe it’s not as bad. I think it was I really wanted to make songs that for me, felt really hopeful and exciting and fun.”
