Earlier this week, GQ revealed their latest cover feature with Travis Scott, which saw him speaking on Kanye West, the current social injustice the country is witnessing, and his contribution to the extremely mysterious film TENET, which currently has no release date. Today, fans get to check out Scott’s new single from the forthcoming movie titled “The Plan,” which is produced by legendary producer and film composer Ludwig Göransson. Prior to its release, fans were given a teaser of the thumping track via an NBA on TNT advertisement, which only further added to TENET’s mystifying nature:

“I done went back in myself, felt like Hell, the patience sells, finally livin’, only … ’bout my choice of business, back with now…/”

In the aforementioned GQ article, TENET director Christopher Nolan spoke on Travis Scott’s importance to the film:

“His voice became the final piece of a yearlong puzzle… His insights into the musical and narrative mechanism Ludwig Göransson and I were building were immediate, insightful, and profound.”

Prior to “The Plan,” this year has seen some of Scott’s best singles to date, including “The Scotts,” his collaboration with Kid Cudi that premiered during his now-iconic Fortnite concert, and “TKN,” his multi-language cut with ROSALÍA. He’s also provided assists on a slew of other 2020 hits, including West’s “Wash Us In The Blood,” Migos’ “Give No Fxk,” NAV’s “Turks,” and Future’s “Solitaires.” The end of last year saw an introduction to the Scott-helmed JackBoys, whose compilation of the same name landed the collective at the top of the Billboard 200 with 154,000 album equivalent units sold. Scott’s last official studio LP, the ground-breaking Astroworld, made landfall in 2018.

Press play on Travis Scott’s “The Plan” below. Hopefully, we’ll hear more about TENET — and Scott’s musical contributions to it — sooner than later.
