Cardi B is known for being pretty open with her political opinion. The Grammy award-winning rapper has always been a staunch supporter of Bernie Sanders and though she recently gave her approval of the Joe Biden-Kamala Harris ticket, U.S. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is the one that she would like to run for president of the United States — when she’s old enough.

Cardi B made the endorsement after catching wind of a clip from AOC’s Instagram story of the Bronx representative jamming to “Bodak Yellow.” In the video, AOC is sharing her thoughts on the inequality of American healthcare and how it can be for a lot of people when you don’t have adequate health insurance or any at all.

In this case, AOC tells her followers how she’s about to get braces again after breaking her retainer in her 20s while being a waitress in New York, but couldn’t afford to get them replaced.

It wasn’t until she was appointed to represent New York’s 14th congressional district, which includes her native Bronx neighborhood, that she’s been afforded access to good healthcare. Now she’s able to head to the dentist without financial fear.

“I had to GET ELECTED TO CONGRESS for me to afford dental treatment,” AOC captioned on her Instagram story. “This is my first time having health insurance in years, and even THEN it didn’t really cover the cost of this — but it did cover other doc appts so I could more easily save.

“…In other words, I got a bag and fixed my teeth,” the New York politician added, which is a line taken from the 2018 multi-platinum hit song.

“She better run for president when she turns 35,” the fellow Bronx “WAP” rapper commented on the tweet.

“Women Against Patriarchy (WAP) 2020,” Ocasio-Cortez simply replied.

AOC turns 31 this October and will reach the presidential age of 35 just in time to run in the next American election.
