Lil Yachty and Future deliver VHS-styled music video for “Pardon Me”
The Mike WiLL Made-It-produced track can be found on ‘Lil Boat 3.’
Back in May, Lil Yachty delivered the third installment of his Lil Boat series, which sees 19 tracks and additional features Tierra Whack, Tyler, The Creator, A$AP Rocky, Lil Keed, Young Thug, Lil Durk, and more. For his latest, the young star brings forth a new visual for “Pardon Me,” his collaboration with Future and Mike WiLL Made-It that centers around the usual Atlanta street subject matter:
“Bring the big F out the house, let them f*** n***as know who really get foul, four hundred thousand right now, four hundred thousand on me right now/
Pull up on the scene, tryna hit it right now I wrap the Bentley in snow, pull up at the house, she waitin’ outside, the lil’ b***h is ready to go/”
While the film sees direction from Zhamak Fullad, it almost looks as if the artists took an old VHS camera and shot the video themselves, during a regular day of living the rockstar lifestyle. The clip is filled with the rappers throwing money, riding fast cars, showing off their grills, a lot of styrofoam cups, and more.
Lil Boat 3 also saw visuals for “Wock In Stock,” “Split/Whole Time,” and “Oprah’s Bank Account,” the latter of which acted as the lead single for the album and featured notable verses from Drake and DaBaby. In an interview with Complex, Yachty spoke on how that track came together:
“I did the song by myself. DaBaby, he had a meet and greet in Atlanta, and I went. …I was like, “You want to go to the studio?“ He came and I played it, and he loved it. … It’s so crazy because I originally wanted to put Lizzo on it. … I posted a snippet on my finsta. Drake follows my finsta, which is crazy. And he was like, “Yo, this is dope,” which blew my mind.”
