“WAP,” which features vocals from Megan Thee Stallion, marks Cardi’s first leading track in nearly nine months. During a recent interview with “The Breakfast Club,” the “Bodak Yellow” spitter revealed how she linked up with the Houston rhymer.

“[My stylist] was like, ‘You have to link up. I know you see the comments all the time; the people would love a song with y’all. You guys gotta get to know each other,’” Cardi said, explaining that her and Megan’s stylists are friends.

She continued, “I told him, ‘I know.’ Like, I’m just shy. One of my big things is that I’m really shy, especially when it comes to girls. I don’t know why. That’s just how I am… But they made it happen. We linked up and we had girly conversations — it was mad fu*king funny.”
