Earlier this month, Koffee unveiled a beautiful new single titled “Lockdown,” which spoke to figuring out love following the end of the quarantine that we’ve had to experience around the world. As REVOLT previously reported alongside the premiere of that song’s music video, the Jamaican star also recently revealed another cut titled “Pressure” during a live performance via High Snobiety. Now, “Pressure” officially makes landfall for her fans to enjoy in its entirety.

Produced by Ryan Bailey, the song sees Koffee revealing her strength in the midst of her struggles — something that all of us can probably relate to:

“Lord have mercy, this cya get no worse, haffi call it a curse, how me heart it a hurt me, call it cerosee, because from me birth/

A the first me a feel like the Father desert me, but, mmm, all when the pressure erupt, me never give up, no, no, no me never give in…/”

Both “Pressure” and the aforementioned “Lockdown” follow the critically-acclaimed EP Rapture, which was released last March and boasted hit singles like “Toast,” “Raggamuffin,” and the title track. That project both landed Koffee at the top of Billboard’s Reggae Albums chart and earned her a Grammy for Best Reggae Album, making her the youngest and first woman to achieve that feat.

Koffee has also formed a bond with her fellow Jamaican music peers, including Chronixx, who recently released his own new single “COOL AS THE BREEZE/FRIDAY.” During an interview with Ebro Darden & Co. on Hot 97, Chronixx spoke on the influence that Koffee has had on him:

“Koffee really made me a more exciting person musically, after seeing how she approaches her creativity, it was just like a breath of fresh air.”

Press play on “Pressure” below. If you missed it, also added is another single from Koffee, the Gunna-assisted “W.”
