Today, Brandy made a big return to music with her new album B7, which sees 15 new tracks from the R&B legend and additional appearances from Daniel Caesar, her daughter Sy’rai, and Chance The Rapper, who provided a verse on the album’s lead single “Baby Mama.” Following the project’s release comes a new visual for the track “Borderline,” which is produced by Darhyl “Hey DJ” Camper and sees Brandy fighting through mental issues created from toxic relationships of the past:

“You’re sorry, you’re sorry, what would you do if you’re alone? Would you think about me?/

I know there’s something wrong with you, on my mind all the time, it is what it is/

Feelin’ crazy, wanna be with me deep down, you can feel it, you can’t help it, baby, I’ll give you this heart of mine/”

The accompanying visual is directed by Derek Blanks and sees Brandy performing the song in what looks like a nightclub. In another sequence, viewers can also see her being forced into a padded room and straight jacket, a direct reference to the subject matter in the song. The clip ended with a message showing support for all who need assistance in regards to mental health.

B7 follows Brandy’s sixth studio album Two Eleven, which was released back in 2012 and landed at the top three of the Billboard 200 thanks to 65,000 copies sold. Over her career, the Los Angeles songstress has amassed well over 40 million records sold worldwide, with more than 8 million sold in the United States alone. She’s also made huge waves in Hollywood, obtaining leading roles in “Thea” and “Moesha” in the 90’s before appearing in a slew of other television series and films throughout the past decade.
