REVOLT is proud to announce its new unscripted series called “What’s Good Africa.” The 10-episode show, which is set to premiere on Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2020; will be a half-hour long, and explore different aspects of hip hop culture in the continent such as rap, sports, fashion, entrepreneurship, parties, and much more. It’s in partnership with What’s Good Networks and What’s Good Studios based in Nairobi, Kenya.

Remmy Majala and Nick Ndeda, two very popular personalities from East Africa, will be the series’ hosts. For those who aren’t aware, Majala is a well-respected journalist who’s mostly known for hosting K24’s popular entertainment show “Arena.” Ndeda, on the other hand, is a known radio and TV personality; as well an award-winning actor, playwright, producer and director.

“Hip Hop is a global culture that truly transcends borders,” said Jonathyn Pankratz, VP of Programming at REVOLT. “We’re very excited to partner with What’s Good Networks and What’s Good Studios to spotlight the vibrant Hip Hop scene in Africa, which is full of the young, innovative artists, influencers, and entrepreneurs REVOLT has been championing since our launch.”

“The global appeal of Hip Hop is undeniable,”James Brown, EVP Content Distribution, at REVOLT added. “REVOLT has been focused on building our international partners. This furthers that direction.”

Josephat Keya, executive producer of What’s Good Studios, echoed the sentiment: “We feel it is vital for Africans to tell our own stories and REVOLT really championed us putting our unique storytellers front and center so they can be recognized and celebrated the world over.”
