Last month, IDK contributed to Kevin Durant’s documentary Basketball County: In the Water by releasing the second installment of his IDK & Friends compilation series. The nine track release saw the Maryland emcee delivering a variety of dope cuts alongside Xanman, Denzel Curry, Wale, Rico Nasty, Juicy J, and more. The project was led by the A$AP Ferg-produced “Mazel Tov,” which essentially sees the collaborators celebrating their wealth over production from SZR, Wonda, IDK, and Ronny J:

“Mazel Tov to the gang, livin’ far from lames, livin’ out in the Hills, Jewish guys pay my bills/

Jewish n***a pay my tax, over five-hunnid racks, Uncle Sam need a slap, my new accountant need a dap/

My new b***h need a bag, who? Me? Huh, laugh, b***h, you better save your money, get creative with the paper like arts and crafts/”

The accompany visual comes courtesy of IDK and Ant Sylvester and shows the rappers enjoying various luxuries around a lavish residence, including a hot hub with beautiful women. As it’s named, the clip also references Jewish culture with scenes of horah and a yarmulke wearer sporting some expensive teeth accessories.

IDK & Friends 2 follows IDK’s official debut LP Is He Real?, a 2019 drop that saw 14 tracks and appearances from DMX, Pusha T, JID, Tyler, the Creator, Burna Boy, and GLC. Prior to that, he delivered IDK & Friends as an appetizer (“I just want y’all to enjoy the crank and play the f*** out of it while we wait for me to complete the album). This year has been relatively dormant for A$AP Ferg, who did contribute some adlibs to Run The JewelsRTJ4 cut “a few words for the firing squad (radiation).” His last project, the well-received EP Floor Seats, was released last August.
