Curren$y has been a driving force in hip hop for many years now and his contributions to the game will never go unnoticed. From his days with Master P and No Limit to his tenure with Lil Wayne and Young Money, Spitta always knew what he wanted to manifest for his life — which lead him to part ways with Young Money late 2007. With consistency playing a huge role in his success, it’s inevitable that he’d be such a tyrant as a staple in the music industry and a prime example of everything an upcoming artist should aspire to be. Today, he tapped on his long-time collaborator Harry Fraud to deliver their new album The OutRunners.

In a sit-down with DJ First Class, the New Orleans rapper discussed the album, working with Harry Fraud, his longevity in hip hop and a lot more. Here’s what he had to say about his longevity and inspiration over the years:

“People responding, letting me know that it mean something to them and just being inspired. I’ve seen so many people make it in the game and lose their spot. And I’ve seen a couple people maintain their runs and build a legacy because they never stopped working. People do it in the beginning and once they get in motion, they start doing other shit.”

Laced with nine records in total, Spitta managed to secure features from some of the best artists you could call on to contribute to an album: Rick Ross, Conway The Machine, Jim Jones and of course, Wiz Khalifa.

Over the course of The OutRunners, you can hear that Andretti and Harry Fraud’s chemistry is clearly getting better with time. As if Cigarette Boats and The Marina EP weren’t enough for you, The OutRunners is certainly a breath of fresh air for the Jet Lifers worldwide. Dropping off some smooth yet braggadocious rhymes, Curren$y has always been known to spit free game on almost every song he ever recorded — most of them which would be considered life changing for some.
