Kid Cudi is slowly but surely making his way back to the forefront. Just last April, he delivered two new tracks — “Leader Of The Delinquents,” and the Travis Scott-assisted “The Scotts,” which got a creative premiere via Travis Scott’s “concert” on Fortnite. In addition, “The Scotts” also helped to earn Cudi his first number one debut on the Billboard Hot 100. Now, he looks to keep that momentum going with another massive collaboration, this time with none other than reigning rap god Eminem.

Titled “The Adventures of Moon Man and Slim Shady,” the single looks to have been in the works as early as May, when Kid Cudi sent the Detroit legend a fairly cryptic tweet. The big announcement was then made by Cudi’s daughter Vada via Instagram:

One of the most notable moments on “The Adventures of Moon Man and Slim Shady” happens near the end of Eminem’s verse, where he addresses the Black lives lost at the hands of police brutality:

“God’s my jury, so when I die, I’m not worried, prayers to George Floyd and Ahmaud Arbery/

How the f*** is it that so many cops are dirty? Stop man, please, officer, I’m sorry/

But I can’t breathe when I got you on top of me, your goddamn knee’s in my carotid artery…/”

While Kid Cudi’s been more of a recluse over the years, Eminem has been pretty active this year. In addition to contributing to albums by frequent collaborators Jessie Reyez and Royce Da 5’9, he also delivered his 11th studio album in January titled Music to Be Murdered By.

Fans can press play on an animated lyric visual for “The Adventures Of Moon Man and Slim Shady” below. Given that it’s been four years since his last album, Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin’, was released, here’s to hoping that Kid Cudi’s seventh studio LP — said to be titled Intergalactic — is on the horizon.
