It only makes sense for Lil Wayne to choose this weekend to celebrate his independence. Today, the New Orleans legend revamps his thirteenth studio LP Free Weezy Album, a project that signified his then-battle with Birdman and Cash Money Records. In addition, he’s also reached into the vault to unearth a visual from the project for the single “Glory,” which sees him blacking out lyrically over production from ONHEL, Infamous, and Avenue Beatz:

“This that s*** they didn’t want me on, I’m ‘bout to act a badonkadonk, shamone, shamone/

Don’t need sugar, I need cream, I’m dark and strong, the garbage man puttin’ on cologne, aroma wrong/

I’m on, I’m on, this that s*** they didn’t want, I act a ass and shit a skunk, I will, I won’t/

Black your eye like will.i.am, you Willy Wonka, that’s me in the Lamb’, I’m disappearin’ like Jimmy Hoffa…/”

The accompanying visual comes courtesy of Eif Rivera and shows Wayne rapping his bars from the top of a mountain. A wolf can be seen roaming the area during the performance, with Wayne’s dreads further proving just how old the clip probably is.

Free Weezy Album was initially released five years from the upcoming holiday, initially as a TIDAL exclusive. The original tracklisting saw 16 cuts from the New Orleans veteran, with additional appearances from Wiz Khalifa, Jeezy, Bibi Bourelly, Euro, Cory Gunz, and more. Presumably in lieu of its anniversary, fans can now enjoy a streamlined version of the album, which has less songs but does offer the new single “We Livin’ Like That.”

Fans can press play on both “Glory” and the updated Free Weezy Album below — also added is a four-track EP titled Skateboard Weezy. In related news, Lil Wayne took part in this year’s BET Awards, where he paid homage to the late Kobe Bryant by performing a namesake classic. Enjoy that here.
