At this point, Megan Thee Stallion has solidified her place as one of the premiere artists in hip hop right now. This year alone, she delivered her top 10 EP release Suga, which spawned the even more successful singles “B.I.T.C.H.,” “Captain Hook,” and “Savage.” The last of the three even earned a Platinum certification and, partly thanks to a remix feature from none other than Beyoncé, scored Thee Stallion her first number one on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart.

As she did last year, Megan looks to take over summer 2020 as well (or what’s left of it). Today, fans get to check out her latest single “Girls In The Hood,” which takes from Eazy-E’s chart-topping 80’s solo debut and bonafide classic “Boyz-n-the-Hood.” She first teased the new cut via social media in typical Meg fashion — by twerking for the cameras:

As only expected from a queen in hip hop, Megan Thee Stallion has also been vocal following the recent death of Black lives at the hands of law enforcement, and has made sure to add additional support for Black LGBTQ+ lives as well. Earlier this month, she took to the streets of West Hollywood during a joint protest between Pride and Black Lives Matter, sporting rainbow colored hair for the demonstrations that took place. She also donated well over $10,000 to help keep protesters out of jail in her hometown of Houston, revealed said efforts on social media:

“I love my people … and I love my city !!! Any contribution helps ! Swipe to see some sites where you can donate money to the bail funds of protestors!!! #blacklivesmatter”

Fans can press play on “Girls In The Hood” below. Don’t be surprised if Megan Thee Stallion’s latest banger becomes the number one song of the quarantined season.
