This week, 6LACK fans can rejoice. Not only has the Atlanta artist announced that he’s releasing a new EP titled 6 PC Hot, he’s also blessing the masses with a new single on his 28th birthday. The track is titled “Float,” and sees production from Jack Rochon, Singawd, FWDSLXSH, and Nick Mira, and sees 6LACK crooning singing about handling your affairs with your loved ones given the chaos currently happening outside:

“We’ve been up, we’ve been down, we’ve been bad, can we turn it around, before we crash?/

Need to know, let me know, yeah, yeah, I gotta put my s*** back on track, been down bad, too many times/

Know that it’s bad but it’ll be fine, that’s just how it is, shout out to slime, it’s a big war goin’ on outside, grab your lover time to slide/

Say your prayers, hold ‘em tight, give your heart with your goodbyes, I’ve been in my feelings, need a drink, singin’ my pains while I’m listenin’ to T-Pain/”

In addition to the new single, 6LACK also recently launched a file-sharing site titled 6LACKBOX.com, which — in addition to a mysterious folder that presumably holds his new creation — sees other folders that alluded to his past discography, merch, and more. Added to the website promo is an apparent hot sauce in the works titled 600 Degrees, which may or may not be sold separately or alongside 6 PC Hot upon its eventual release.

As with his peers, 6LACK also found himself speaking out against the crimes taking place against his community following the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery. As seen via his social media, where you can read the message in its entirety:

“before i’m musician, i’m a black man. before i’m a businessman, i’m a father. right now tensions across the country & the world are high, and at night i look at my child while she sleeps wondering if i’m making the world a safer place for her, or if it’s gonna fall on her to pick up what we’ve been handed.”
