Happy Juneteenth ladies and gentlemen! There’s no better way to bring in the holiday than quality time with your family and friends, some delectable barbecue, unmatched vibes and distinguished music to top it off. As black kings and queens celebrate across the globe, it’s a beautiful thing to see more of us joining the party one by one — despite the current weight of the world playing a part in most of our understanding. As the saying goes, “better late than never!”. Today, G.O.O.D. Music’s own Teyana Taylor brings forth her new album titled The Album — and she did not miss!

The G.O.O.D. Music first lady recently spoke on why she decided to release this album on Juneteenth with Billboard:

With releasing the album on Juneteenth, it’s important because if you noticed the lead singles that I led with were “Made It” and ‘We Got Love.” So I’ve always been here. I’ve always been about us being celebrated and celebrating my culture and my people. For everything to happen, from my album getting delayed and it falls perfectly on Juneteenth, yes, it’s a celebration.

The Album contains a solid 24 records and features some of the best features that one could hope for on an album: Rick Ross, Big Sean the iconic Erykah Badu and Lauryn Hill and more. In addition, the project serves as the long-awaited follow-up to her 2018 album K.T.S.E. (which was produced entirely by Kanye West).

Through The Album, Teyana Taylor gives us nothing short of the real. This is her in full form and this is her truth. She went through every emotion while creating this album and her goal is to have her fans feel every emotion. The same energy she gives at her shows is the exact same energy displayed throughout The Album.
