According to ABC7 Los Angeles, Terron Jammal Boone — the half-brother of Robert Fuller — was fatally shot by Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies in Rosamond, California on Wednesday (June 17).

Police were reportedly responding to a call about a kidnapping, spousal assault and assault with a deadly weapon when they saw a man in a Jeep whom they believed to be the suspect.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, police began pursuing the vehicle and attempted to block the suspect with a traffic stop. Authorities say the alleged suspect began shooting at them from the car and they returned fire. A Jeep with multiple bullet holes and a gun were later recovered at the scene of the shooting.

A woman was also in car’s driver’s seat. According to police, the woman is not the assault victim from the report. She was was shot in the chest and is expected to survive. A 7-year-old girl was also in the car at the time, but she was not injured in the shooting.

The Fuller family’s lawyer Jamon Hicks confirmed that the alleged suspect who died in the shooting was Fuller’s half-brother, Boone. He released a statement on behalf of the family on Wednesday (June 17).

“This afternoon I had to notify the sisters of Robert Fuller that their half-brother Terron Jammal Boone was killed by Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies in Kern County,” he said.

“At this time, until we receive all of the information, the family and their legal team doesn’t have any further comment on this incident. The family respectfully asks that their privacy be respected.”

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department homicide detectives are reportedly assisting an investigation into the shooting.

The news arrives one week after Boone’s half-brother Fuller was found hanging from a tree in Palmdale, California. As reported by REVOLT, the 24-year-old’s death was initially ruled as a suicide in preliminary investigations by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Homicide Bureau. However, following public outcry from local residents and claims from his family that Fuller was not suicidal, the FBI is now set to oversee a review of the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department’s investigation.
