Megan Thee Stallion is reminding her fans about the value of education. On Friday (June 12), the Houston rapper shared a powerful message to Twitter, encouraging others not to feed into negativity.

“Although school is not for everyone, do not let people discourage you from pursuing a higher education. We need the upcoming generation with better mindsets to become our next lawyers, judges, doctors, etc. We need GOOD people with real morals and values in high places,” she wrote.

The “Savage” musician, who is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in health administration at Texas Southern University, has used her platform to speak out against racial injustices. Earlier this month, the 25-year-old donated over $10,000 to bail relief efforts in Houston, Texas. “I love my people and I love my city!!!” she wrote on Instagram. “Any contribution helps! Swipe to see some sites where you can donate money to the bail funds of protestors!!! #Blacklivesmatter.”

Megan’s funds were donated to Restoring Justice, an organization that focuses on ending mass incarceration. In addition to the “Captain Hook” musician, several other celebrities have used their platforms to speak out following the police brutality-related deaths of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery and Breonna Taylor.

Earlier this month, Beyoncé thanked Black Lives Matter protesters in a powerful graduation speech. “Thank you for using your collective voice and letting the world know that Black lives matter,” the “Savage (Remix)” star said. “The killings of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor and so many others have left us all broken. It has left the entire country searching for answers. We’ve seen that our collective hearts, when put to positive action, could start the wheels of change. Real change has started with you, this new generation of high school and college graduates who we celebrate today.”
