On Saturday (June 6), actor Micheal B. Jordan attended a Black Lives Matter protest in Los Angeles. During the march, Jordan spoke out against racism in a powerful speech.

Dressed in an all-black outfit while speaking into a megaphone, the Black Panther star called on Hollywood to commit to black hiring, encouraging diversity in the workplace. “A great agent doesn’t have to be a great organizer,” he said before adding, “But a great agent could advocate for relationships with organizers.”

He continued, “What we are doing today will make our values heard and our voices heard. We’ve got to keep agitating things. We can’t be complacent. We can’t let this moment just pass us by, we have to continue to put our foot on their necks.

Throughout his career, Jordan has taken on roles that touch on racial injustices that minorities often face. Last year, he worked with Jamie Foxx in a film titled Just Mercy. During an interview with Deadline, Foxx confessed that he signed on for the project based on Jordan’s proven work ethic.

“Michael B. Jordan called me,” Foxx recalled. “He called and said, ‘Listen, I would really love for you to take on this role.’ I mean, whatever he was going to ask me I was going to say yes anyway. But when he told me about what it was, if you look at his body of work, when he did ‘Fruitvale Station,’ I thought that was amazing because it allowed a narrative that he could always go back to, talking about what’s going on with us, some black folk.”

Jordan joined the long list of celebrities, including J. Cole, Kanye West and more, to march in protests, speaking out against police brutality-related deaths in America. Take a look at Michael B. Jordan’s powerful speech below.
