Emboldened by the passing of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and countless others who have lost their lives at the hands of law enforcement, Ty Dolla $ign has teamed up with Skrillex, Ant Clemons, and Virtual Riot to create the heartfelt single “You See It,” which makes an impassioned call for change in our country:

“I know you see it, my people dying in the streets, they ain’t breathing, I know you heard about it/

You know the issues, but the problems you ain’t speaking, how many more of my brothers do I gotta lose till I see change?/

I know you see it, but we need change, how many more of these mothers, do they gotta lose they child, til’ we fix things, I know you see it, but we need change…/”

The end of the short number features audio from Nia Miranda, who can be seen in a social media post calling out white protestors who were defacing property in Los Angeles. All in all, “You See It” aims at both the government, who chooses to continue to allow racism and police brutality to remain so prevalent in our community, and the wolves in sheep’s clothing who aim to destroy it.

Previously, Ty Dolla $ign and his currently incarcerated brother Big TC spoke out against the same issues through their release “No Justice,” which appeared on the Ty$’ 2016 project Campaign. In a past interview with Ebony, Ty Dolla $ign spoke on his brother’s wrongful imprisonment:

“Everything is happening exactly how God wants things to happen. Everything happens for a reason. Although things are happening, some things are still not right when you look at it. My brother did not murder that man. And a lot of people know it. You know, being in the wrong place at the wrong time, hanging out with the wrong crowd, everything that mom used to warn us about back in the day happened to my brother.”
