It looks like the current Coronavirus pandemic and other issues have allowed G-Eazy to experiment with different sounds and genres. While the fans wait for his forthcoming sequel to 2014’s These Things Happen, the Bay Area has decided to create an EP titled Everything’s Strange Here, which sees him dabbling outside of his usual hip hop vibes for more folksy fare. Last month, he dropped off a couple of tracks for his fans to enjoy — “Free Porn, Cheap Drugs” and, more recently, “Stan By Me,” which is produced by Marshmello and sees G-Eazy singing about what sounds like a past love:

“I will stand for you if you stand by me, are you blind for love, why can’t you see? I’d buy you more Chanel, get you new Gucci/

But you still run away like it’s fashion week, does that sound drastic? She got a attitude and she’s so sarcastic/

So hung up on you, I just can’t look past it, Tripping on you, two tabs of acid, you are the one I dream about/

You’re the one I can’t live withoutI want your love, I don’t want the clout, Tthere’s nothing else I give a f*** about…/”

In addition to the music, G-Eazy has remained active in his community. He recently connected his Endless Summer Fund program with Larking Street Youth Services to deliver food to children who are currently unable to receive school lunches due to the aforementioned pandemic:

The Bay is my home and I want to help and support my community however I can, which is why I am partnering with Larkin Street Youth Services to provide meals to kids during this crisis… We are all in this together and I hope others will join me in supporting our communities however they can.”
