When it comes to New York hip hop, Fivio Foreign is on fire. A current frontrunner of the still-growing Brooklyn drill movement, the rising star recently dropped off a new EP titled 800 BC (Before Corona), which saw eight tracks and assists from Meek Mill, Lil Baby, Quavo, and more. Following some recent features for the likes of French Montana and Lil Tjay comes a new freestyle titled “Fully Focused,” which sees him keeping things street over production from go-to UK beatsmith 808Melo:

“Look, I did a song and they supported it, I needed money, I fully extorted it/

This is the Bible, earthquake on my arrival, only God is my idol, discipline on my rivals/

I did it, you did it, recycle, they gotta put me on TIDAL, when I bust a move, I’m Michael/

I told you I loved you, I siked you, I don’t even think I liked you…/”

As with most Brooklyn drill videos, Fivio Foreign lets the viewer into his world of money, studio life, and the streets with his crew, keeping the fans dancing to the cross-Atlantic sound.

In a recent feature with Complex, Fivio explained how New York’s connection with the British sub-genre came into play:

“We don’t really listen to the U.K. s***… It’s just that the n***as from the U.K. know how to make the beats. We didn’t really know they was on that type of music, but they were making beats and putting shit on YouTube as ‘Chief Keef type beat’ or ‘G Herbo type beat’ and we were snatching ’em up, not knowing they were U.K.-made.”

Press play on “Fully Focused” freestyle below. Also included below is a recent clip for “Drive By” and a remix of Fivio, Lil Tjay and the late Pop Smoke’s posse cut “Zoo York,” which now features French Montana.
